Wine classified by color

Wine is an alcoholic drink made from fermented grapes. The alcohol content of wine is usually 10-14%. There are three main categories of wine which separate wine by color: red, white, and rosé, also called blush, which is a pinkish color.

The color of the wine is determined by whether or not the juice of the grape was allowed to soak with the skins or not. The color of a grape is all in its skin, with the interior and juice of the grape being mostly colorless. Red wines are made from red or dark grapes and the skin is left on when the grapes are crushed. White wines can be made from any color grape, as long as the skin is removed beforehand. Rosé wines are made by allowing the juice to mix with the skin of the grapes for a short period of time.

Wine can also be classified by the location where the wine was produced.
